Garden Plain High School

I graduted from Garden Plain High School in 2008. From there I attended the University of Kansas and graduated in May 2012 with a BGS in Psychology and two minors, Business and Leadership Studies. I received my Master’s of Education in Counseling from Wichita State University December 2016.

I did not take the traditional route to School Counseling. I did not do any teaching before this. I am in my second year with Renwick as an employee.

Right after graduating college I joined a company called FOCUS to be a missionary on a college campus. There I lead small group Bible Studies, one-on-one mentorship, and planned large group events to create community.

After my two- year commitment with FOCUS ended, I moved to Wichita and worked as a Sales Representative at Solutio. I sold ads for the websites that our company designed. 

After a year of getting my feet under myself, I found a wonderful and unique opportunity to work with high school students at the college level at WATC, now WSU Tech. There I worked with high school students to plan their college academic career, signed students up for concurrent credit at their schools, and enrolled students to participate in the Excel CTE program which allows high school students to take technical education classes for free.

I grew up right here in Garden Plain, America. I have an older brother and 3 younger sisters. My parents still reside in Garden Plain. We were very fortunate to grow up as an Owl!

I got married April 28, 2018 to my love, Colby. He works as an IT Systems Administrator. We had a little girl, Kyndal Janae, on February 1^st, 2018! We are completely smitten with her and are so blessed to be her parents. We also have two dogs named Maisie and Beau.
